“Marhumlar oroli I” by Davron Sultonov
It is impossible to replace freedom and dignity as enormous blessings. You assert that you did not give up many lives in order to accomplish it and see the people’s freedom. In this manner, sometimes a strong army is assaulted by the adversary, while other times spiritual propaganda has evolved into a weapon of the freedom movement. But the Natu people, whose spirituality and personalities have been violated and who have endured centuries of colonial policy that has doomed them to servitude, do not engage in such a struggle. No force could stop the Natlans because they lacked both weapons and soldiers. Finally, the Nats discover a novel strategy that no one has ever considered: they escape colonial captivity by making the legendary “Secret of the Anas Dynasty” into “truth.” He gained readership with his detective novel “Legendary Mirror,” and with his distinct style and unorthodox storytelling, he gave Uzbek literature a fresh perspective. The detective book “Island of the Dead,” another piece of art by the young artist Davron Sultanov, which is based on the same events, serves to highlight the fact that any action taken in the cause of freedom is a huge act of heroism. This work will certainly hold a worthy position in readers’ hearts due to the interpretation of extraordinary occurrences, the evolution of events, and the way that it reads like a translation in one breath.
