“Intiqom: Amirlikning ag’darilishi” by Poyon Ravshanov
For Central Asia, and particularly the Emirate of Bukhara, the end of the first quarter of the 20th century was tragic. After a coup brought the Soviets to power in Russia, they seized control of most of Turkestan and turned their attention to Khiva and Bukhara. On September 1, 1920, warfare against the Bukhara Emirate began following the Khanate of Khorezm’s invasion. While residing overseas, Amir Olimkhan joins a life-or-death battle against the communist dictators with the help of the nation’s valiant citizens. Regular military forces are called out to battle the Soviets in “El navkars.”The writing is based on historical fact and archive sources. All of the characters are real people from history. The author’s major objective is to combine historical accuracy with aesthetic delight.
