More than 350 medicinal plants that grow in Uzbekistan are included alphabetically in volume 1 of this encyclopedia under their scientific, regional, and etymological names. Their names, botanical descriptions, geographic distribution, and the chemical make-up of the pharmaceuticals developed from them are also provided. Additionally, a thorough explanation of how medicinal plant raw materials (roots, soils, leaves, fruits, and bark) are used in both traditional and contemporary medical treatments for illnesses is provided. The encyclopedia is aimed at students as well as regular herbalists and practitioners.
